Roxi Hardegree is a botanical artist located in Lubbock Texas, creating one-of-a-kind artwork using botanical materials. This original cyanotype art is created using a unique wet method, where various liquids and spices are added during the process. These elements interact with the intense Texas sun, enhancing the effect and creating a piece that captures both the organic textures and the vibrant, shifting colors characteristic of this innovative approach. Roxi is continually challenged by the lack of control in this process and thrilled by the color shifts and diversity of textures that can be created.

All panels and frames are built by me. All work is wired and ready to hang.

Roadside Coneflowers

6”x13”x1.5”

My favorite wildflower to find along the road while cruising the countryside. In this original cyanotype delicate thin petals lend a gracefulness while the flower centers leave their mark behind. The background features a great balance of lights and darks with lots of texture. Mounted in a ‘framed’ cradled panel.

Feather

6.5”x13.5”x1.5”

Feathers are always fun to work with. This hawk feather created a nice ethereal feel in contrast to its owner being a predator. In this original the dark blue watery border creates a great finishing edge. Mounted in a ‘framed’ cradled panel.
